Company founder Carl Heuchemer celebrates his 80th birthday
On May 19, 1967, Carl Heuchemer, the owner and senior partner of the Carl Heuchemer sawmill, crate and cardboard box factory, celebrates his 80th birthday with astonishing mental freshness.

New company building in Bad Ems
The modern building in Wilhelmsallee was completed after a construction period of around ten months and is primarily used to concentrate administration and offices.

Further diversification: production of plastic packaging in Miehlen/Ts.
Since this year, Heuchemer packaging has existed as we know it today with the three raw materials:
- Wood
- Corrugated board
- Plastic
The ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary took place on October 6.

Substantial expansion requires the construction of a new plant in Miehlen/Ts.
1987
Fire in Bad Ems
In 1987, the “plastics production” section at the Bad Ems site caught fire and led to the Bad Ems site being almost completely burnt out.
As a result, the decision was made to relocate plastic packaging production to the “Alte Schule” in Miehlen/Ts.
and to rebuild the Bad Ems site for the production of crates and pallets.

Expansion of market expertise in all three business areas
In the 1990s, Heuchemer Verpackung continued to expand its fields of operation and gained an international reputation, particularly in the field of finishing corrugated cardboard packaging.
This period also resulted in a number of awards, including the Grand Prix Cyrel Awards.

Opening of printing center in Miehlen
In 2004, a milestone in the production capabilities of Heuchemer Verpackung was reached with the opening of the 7-color printing center in Miehlen/Ts.

Since then, our 7-color Masterflex printing machine has been used to produce the most brilliant print images using the flexo direct printing process in the corrugated board packaging plant.

A company party with 2 anniversaries: Karl-Heinz Heuchemer celebrates his 85th birthday and Heuchemer Verpackung celebrates the company’s 88th anniversary.
The celebrations were very exuberant at a timber yard party at the Bad Ems site.

Opening of raw material warehouse corrugated board plant
The continuous growth of the corrugated cardboard plant required further structural measures to expand the storage of the corrugated cardboard raw material in the form of format sheets.

90 years of Heuchemer packaging
To mark the 90th anniversary of Heuchemer Verpackung, the family organized a celebration in the Kurhaus Bad Ems with all employees.

Opening of clean room plastics plant
In 2011, the plastics plant took a significant step forward in its manufacturing capabilities by installing a clean room that offers the possibility of to manufacture under ISO 8 clean room conditions.

Christoph Heuchemer passed away on October 11, 2012
Christoph Heuchemer passed away unexpectedly and bequeathed his company to his three children Laura, Christian and Sophie in equal shares.
Since then, the three siblings have continued to run the company on their own responsibility and in memory of their father, working with their employees every day to ensure the successful continuation of the company.

Heuchemer Verpackung is listed in the EcoVadis Sustainablity Rating for the first time and immediately receives the bronze award.

Opening of the new “Heuchemer Digital” business unit at the Miehlen plant

German Packaging Award
Heuchemer Verpackung wins the German Packaging Award 2019 in the “Design and Finishing” category in its very first participation with a gift packaging made of corrugated grass board produced in the new digital printing center.

FachPack 2019 – Livestream to the Miehlen plant
At FachPack 2019, Heuchemer Verpackung surprised trade fair visitors with a live stream from Nuremberg to Miehlen to demonstrate packaging production in real time.
Visitors were able to have their photos taken at the trade fair and then follow the assembly of the images onto the customized print image and the production of the packaging in Miehlen live on a video wall.
Within a few minutes, the employees from the digital printing center presented the finished printed and die-cut packaging via camera image.
The packaging was then sent by express courier to the respective trade fair visitors as a thank you.
Is it possible to produce customized packaging in real time?
Heuchemer Verpackung provided live proof that this is possible!

Unfortunately, the planned celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary with customers and employees had to be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, much to the regret of the family.
