AUTOMOTIVE
TASK
Customer: fischer automotive systems GmbH & Co. KG
The task was to construct a semi-automatic tray for highly-processed wheel covers which could be manually handled. In this case, it was important to achieve the highest-possible measure of security for the product to be packaged, so that no damage could occur to customers in later process operations.
PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
The detailed demands for the tray were coordinated jointly with the customer. Subsequently, a 3D model of the construction was fabricated based on the technical drawings created by Heuchemer Packaging, which enabled a 360° view of the planned tray as early as the preliminary stage.
IMPLEMENTATION / PRODUCTION
After sampling and the approval of the prototype, the series tool was created by the in-house toolmaking at Heuchemer Packaging, so that initial samples of the new tray could be delivered to the customer after only a short period of time. Now we just had to test the tray in the customer’s process sequence.
CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
After comprehensive tests, acceptance of the initial sample was granted by the customer, and the newly-developed trays could be successfully integrated into the customer’s process sequence.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
TASK
Customer: BOMAG GmbH
The task involved developing a charge carrier which could accommodate a 1.6t heavy trench roller, in order to send it securely as well as cost-effectively. In doing so, the pallet should not only improve the partial process of packaging, but should be functional for all those involved in the logistics chain.
PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
In order to be suitable for all demands of the logistics chain (land, water, sky), complete documentation had to be created, as well as a calculation for maximum force interactions of up to 4 g. Here, we not only made calculations from the point of view of load safety, but we also examined and guaranteed 4-way manoeuvrability of the product even in the most unfavourable of circumstances.
IMPLEMENTATION / PRODUCTION
In development, as with production, we let our many years of experience and our sound knowledge flow. Boreholes and milling serve to help the loading belt pass through and as product protection, thus improving cargo securing. Warning messages and special information for operators and transportation staff in the form of lettering via plotter technology round off this special packaging.
CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
From the production or test bench to final assembly, all the way to the shipping of the trench roller, we offer the customer safety and service from a single source. The special demands placed on us as a result of the diversity of the products enable us to implement our entire know-how for you in the most profitable way possible.

TASK
Customer: delta pronatura Dr. Krauss & Dr. Beckmann KG
The aim of the task was to design secure and, at the same time, promotionally-presentable packaging from corrugated board. Furthermore, the packaging should be automatically fillable and erectable, so that it could be integrated smoothly into the packaging process with the customer. In addition, the packaging was to be easy to open by means of perforation.
PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
Together with the customers, the in-house packaging development team at Heuchemer Packaging created a plotter sample, as well as a 3D model of the new box. The print image provided by the customer had already been integrated into the 3D model, allowing the most exact visualisation of the end product possible, even in the preliminary stage.
To guarantee the required quality of the box, the results of a box compression test (BCT) were used alongside experience values.
IMPLEMENTATION / PRODUCTION
After customer approval, creation of die-cut packaging was carried out in the Heuchemer Packaging’s climate-controlled production centre in the Miehlen factory. A modern BOBST MASTERLINE 1700 here took over the 3-colour printing process. The high demands for an extremely exact flatness, indispensable for boxes used in automated packaging, were met through use of automatic palletising and exact process monitoring.
CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
After just-in-time delivery was carried out, the box went into the customer’s production line and was automatically filled with the product. This is where the exact flatness is extremely important in order to guarantee an uninterrupted machine run. Through professional measures, we were able to prevent the corrugated board’s compulsion to bend, thus achieving an error-free machine run.

MEDICAL
TASK
Customer: Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG
Here, our customers requested that our packaging contain integrated vibration damping to protect the product from vibrations, as well as the opportunity to package the delicate ventilator, with a net weight of around 150kg, without too much effort, as well as to remove it once more when at the target location. A Euro-pallet of 1200x800mm was also to be used in order to keep the transportation costs low.
PACKAGING SOLUTION
Due to previous experience with shock absorbers under charge carriers, our tried-and-tested sandwich bonding with EPP material was able to be implemented here in conjunction with plywood. In order to meet the additional challenge of the easy stowing of the device, we mounted a folding access ramp which was folded up shortly before shipping and which disappeared from sight under a corrugated board cover. Once at its target location, the ramp could once again serve as an aid in unloading the device once the packaging had been opened.
